1. Overview
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs use of all Serversify services. It exists to protect the quality and security of our network for all customers, and to ensure Serversify is not used as a platform for harmful activities.
This AUP applies to all accounts, including those using services indirectly through our API or resellers. Violations may result in immediate service suspension or termination without refund.
If you are aware of a violation of this policy, please report it to [email protected].
2. Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited on Serversify infrastructure:
- Denial-of-service attacks: Launching, facilitating, or directing DDoS/DoS attacks against any network, system, or individual.
- Spam and bulk email: Sending unsolicited commercial email, bulk SMS, or other unsolicited bulk communications at any scale.
- Malware and botnets: Hosting, distributing, or operating command-and-control infrastructure for malware, ransomware, spyware, or botnets.
- Illegal content: Storing, transmitting, or making accessible any content that is illegal under applicable law, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), which will result in immediate termination and mandatory reporting to law enforcement.
- Phishing and fraud: Operating phishing sites, credential-harvesting pages, or fraudulent e-commerce platforms.
- IP address spoofing: Forging IP packet headers or using our infrastructure to spoof source addresses.
- Port scanning without authorisation: Conducting network scans or penetration tests against systems or networks you do not own or have written permission to test.
- Intellectual property infringement: Hosting or distributing copyright-infringing content, including pirated software, films, or music at scale.
3. Network Abuse
You may not use Serversify services to:
- Saturate or impair our shared network infrastructure in a way that degrades service for other customers
- Exceed the bandwidth limits defined in your plan without purchasing additional allowances
- Route traffic through our network with the intent of obscuring the origin of abusive or illegal activity
- Operate open resolvers, open proxies, or anonymous VPN exit nodes that are used by third parties to conduct abuse
- Conduct BGP hijacking, route leaking, or any action that destabilises the global routing table
Serversify maintains peering relationships and network integrity commitments to carriers. Activities that jeopardise these relationships may result in emergency suspension without notice.
4. Content Restrictions
While we do not routinely inspect customer content, the following content types are not permitted on our platform:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — mandatory report and immediate termination
- Non-consensual intimate imagery
- Content that incites violence or terrorism against individuals or groups
- Doxxing: publishing personally identifiable information about individuals without their consent with intent to harm
We reserve the right to remove content that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates this policy or applicable law, with or without prior notice.
5. Resource Usage
Resources including CPU, memory, storage, and bandwidth are allocated per your plan. Sustained usage above plan limits may result in throttling, automatic upgrade prompts, or suspension.
Cryptocurrency mining: CPU-based cryptocurrency mining is permitted only on Dedicated Server plans where you own the full hardware. Mining on VPS or Cloud plans is prohibited as it disproportionately impacts shared infrastructure.
Tor exit nodes: Operating Tor exit nodes is permitted on Dedicated plans only, with prior written approval from our abuse team. Exit nodes on shared infrastructure are prohibited.
6. Reporting Violations
To report abuse originating from Serversify IP addresses:
- Email: [email protected]
- Emergency (active DDoS): Include "URGENT" in the subject line. We aim to respond within 1 hour to active network attacks.
- CSAM reports: These are escalated immediately to the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) and relevant law enforcement.
Please include log excerpts, IP addresses, timestamps (in UTC), and a description of the abuse. We will acknowledge all reports within 24 hours.
7. Consequences of Violation
Violations of this AUP may result in:
- A warning and request to cease the violating activity
- Temporary suspension of the offending server or account
- Permanent termination of the account without refund
- Reporting to law enforcement and relevant internet abuse registries
- Civil or criminal legal action where appropriate
The severity of consequences will be proportionate to the nature of the violation. We will attempt to notify account holders before suspension where doing so does not increase harm to others.
